Sunday Weekly Global Meditation - September 29th, 2019

Image
Dear friends, For our group meditation this Sunday, we will focus our intentions of healing for people who are suffering from  Benzodiazepine withdrawal syndrome.   Anyone who has been prescribed Benzodiazepine  has the possibility of developing this withdrawal syndrome depending on how much and how long they use it. We encourage everyone to take a moment to get to know what this pharmaceutical drug is, how it can affect our health in more harmful ways and to stay away from it.  We extend our caring thoughts and healing light to our friend Rachel Olhava who has requested healing for people with BWS and is going through a process of recovery from this herself.  May the pains and suffering be healed. Dear friends, A life's journey in seeking the deeper truths lead us through the teachings of great masters. We each have our challenges and obstacles in life that could feel overwhelming and perhaps even impossible to overcome but we can find more light towards positive changes with the guidance of the wise sages from ancient times until modern times. For this Sunday's meditation, we are taking 'The Five Mindfulness Trainings' that are based on the foundation of Buddhist practices that have been translated and given by Thich Nhat Hanh in the book 'Happiness' . "The Five Mindfulness Trainings are one of the most concrete ways to practice mindfulness. They are nonsectarian and their nature is universal. They are really the practices of compassion and understanding. All spiritual traditions have their equivalent to the fie mindfulness trainings as guidelines, signposts for how to respond to all of the varied and sometimes unhealthy choices that are...

Dear friends, For this Sunday's meditation, we bring our awareness to the topic of human nature - the biological makings of our physical body, how emotional feeling and mental thinking that is guided by spirit are connected together. There are many things that give us energy, as well as take them away from us. How do you nourish yourself to raise your energy level, and how might you be bringing your energy down? Body scanning meditation is one good way of becoming more aware of your body, and combined with breathing practice can allow your body, mind, and spirit to release any negative energies and strengthen your positive energy (qi/chi). When practicing body scanning meditation, lay down flat on your back so you are facing towards the ceiling, with your palms either facing up or down. Relax your whole body and gently close your eyes. bring your awareness first to the tip of your toes, slowly more your awareness upward through your body - feet, ankles, legs, hips, abdomen...

Dear friends, As we progress through the season of Virgo, there is a greater focus on our caring, nurturing energies. September is a month of harvest and making a self-evaluation of how far we have come in this year and in our lives. For this week's Sunday meditation, we bring our awareness to our heart - our emotions guide us to become more aware of our true self and the purpose of our lives. When we speak from our good hearts, we talk truthfully, lovingly, compassionately. When we neglect to listen to the heart, we have less care towards oneself and each other. A practice in mindfulness of how you are currently feeling can grow the heart to find ways of letting go of any negative emotions and strengthen the positive emotions. Here are some questions you can ask yourself as you meditate on your heart and emotions. - How do you feel positive/ negative emotions? - What emotions do you tend to have more often? Why? - What are some things (people, places, events, etc...

This week we are sending intentions to stop the fires in the Amazon  rainforest .  Here is some info about this alarming issue: "The world’s largest rainforest is up in flames, and Brazil is currently the epicentre of an environmental disaster. The Amazon rainforest, covering seven million square kilometres of land and comprising 40 per cent of the world’s rainforest, has been aflame for three weeks.  Images of the destruction have taken social media by storm, and sparked an outcry among netizens. There seems however, to be a conspicuous lack of attention on the part of the Brazilian government. What has caused the blazes in the Amazon rainforest, you may be wondering? The blame has been solely placed on human activity. According to  The Express , the rainforest has generally been fire-resistant due to its natural moisture and humidity. However, its resilience has decreased as deforestation and logging activities intensified over the y...

Greetings, This week we will be focusing on bringing peace to the current situation in  Hong Kong . We are intending to bring calming energy to the hearts and minds of the people there, we also wish that Hong Kong may keep its independence even after the year 2047. As the consciousness of this planet and its inhabitants expands slowly, but surely people are becoming more aware all over the world and many have become tired of the old and corrupt power systems. Many governments, of course, will not like that and respond in the way they know best, especially totalitarian governments and they know how to push people back with force and violence. We are heading towards a time where people desire to have freedom, tolerance, justice, equality, and peace more than ever before. That is how things should be in all healthy societies and communities and it is not wrong to demand it. However, all change should always be brought through nonviolent means as Gandhi showed us. With love, ...

Vajrayana Tibetan Buddhist Full Moon Meditation: 'Gachirinkan'【月輪観】

Image
The Full Moon Meditation or 'Gachirinkan' is one of the meditations that I've learned while I was on my pilgrimage to the 88 Shingon Buddhist temples in the Kanto area of Japan. This meditation is based on  Vajrayana  Tibetan Buddhism, which is an ancient form of Buddhism that was originally founded in India by the Mahāsiddhas and includes practices using mantras, mudras, mandalas, etc. The aim of this meditation is to make one's heart as pure and clear, shining brightly and beautifully like the full moon. Connecting with the moon's energy allows you to become more aware of your emotions, intuitions, and mystical wisdom. You can practice under the full moon, or on any other days as you hold the image of the full moon in the mind's eye. As a reference, here are the instructions for practicing the Buddist full moon meditation, Gachirinkan. If you are interested in trying this out, allow yourself a good amount of time to understand the meanings of t...
